About the Moose Lake Cottage Owners Association

Moose Lake is a place where neighbours become friends and families build lasting memories. The Moose Lake Cottage Owners Association (MLCOA) brings cottage owners together to care for this special place, strengthen our community and represent our shared interests.

Established in 1967, the MLCOA has served as a collective voice for cottage owners in Moose Lake Provincial Park. Our purpose is to represent, support and inform members while encouraging responsible recreation and care for the lake and its surroundings.

Through member communications, annual meetings and community involvement, the association helps cottage owners stay informed, raise concerns and contribute to decisions that affect cottage life.

Working with Parks and Conservation

We strive to maintain a strong, positive and cooperative relationship with Parks and Conservation. Through open communication and constructive dialogue, we work together to address cottage owners’ concerns, support park improvements and preserve the qualities that make Moose Lake special.

As a member of the Manitoba Provincial Parks Cabin Owners Association, the MLCOA also participates in broader discussions affecting cottage owners across Manitoba.

Making a Difference Together

The association has supported a variety of projects and initiatives that contribute to life at Moose Lake, including:

> Playground improvements that create a welcoming space for children and families.

> Winter aeration efforts that help support fish populations.

> Improved 911 coverage to strengthen emergency response in the cottage community.

> Community donations that support local causes.

> Trail work that enhances opportunities for outdoor recreation.

> Community events that bring neighbours together.

These contributions reflect the combined efforts of members, volunteers, Parks staff and community partners. Each project demonstrates what we can accomplish when we work together.

Whether you have been at Moose Lake for generations or are new to the cottage community, we welcome your ideas and involvement. Your participation helps the MLCOA continue representing cottage owners and caring for the place we all enjoy.

Our Mission

To represent, support and inform Moose Lake cottage owners while promoting responsible stewardship of Moose Lake Provincial Park.

Our Vision

A vibrant cottage community working together to preserve Moose Lake's natural environment and protect the unique lifestyle we all enjoy.

Our objectives

Whether you're a longtime cabin owner or recently purchased your first cottage, we're proud to welcome you to our community.

Represent cottage owners

For more than 50 years, the Moose Lake Cottage Owners Association has been committed to protecting the interests of our members while preserving the unique character of Moose Lake Provincial Park. Our objectives guide everything we do and reflect our commitment to both our cottage community and the natural environment we are fortunate to enjoy.

Encourage responsible recreation

Moose Lake offers outstanding opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and spending time outdoors. We promote the safe and respectful use of the park while encouraging everyone to follow park regulations, protect wildlife habitats, and help maintain the peaceful atmosphere that makes Moose Lake such a special place.

Encourage responsible recreation

Keeping members informed is one of our highest priorities. We provide timely updates on association activities, Manitoba Parks initiatives, important notices, and issues affecting cottage owners through our website, email communications, and our Annual General Meeting.

Protect the natural environment

We serve as the collective voice of cottage owners by working with Manitoba Parks and other stakeholders on matters that affect our community. From lease and policy discussions to infrastructure improvements and park management decisions, we advocate for solutions that benefit both our members and the long-term sustainability of Moose Lake.

Foster community involvement

A strong community depends on engaged members. We encourage cottage owners to participate in annual meetings, volunteer for projects, share ideas, and contribute to the continued success of the association. By working together, we can accomplish far more than any individual could alone.

Preserve Moose Lake for future generations

Everything we do is guided by a long-term vision. We strive to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same pristine lake, beautiful forests, recreational opportunities, and close-knit cottage community that have made Moose Lake a cherished destination since 1967. By balancing responsible stewardship with thoughtful advocacy, we help protect the legacy of Moose Lake for years to come.
